REVIEWS

quote I was told the food in this restaurant is not good so haven’t tried until now. They have casual dining set menus at a reasonable price. We chose set menu B $79.90 (cash) 🔸Homemade Tofu 🔸King Pork Ribs 🔸Sambal Kang Kong 🔸Free Range Chicken 🔸4 bowls of rice Add $9.90 for steamed whole barramundi, we opted for the ginger steamed. We got all the dishes very quick and they all tasted delicious, except we found there was way too much ginger on the fish.

quote I recently had the pleasure of dining at O'Town in Glen Waverley and found the experience to be quite delightful. The dishes offered are not only delicious but also great value for money, making it an attractive dining option for those looking to enjoy authentic cuisine without breaking the bank. I tried their Penang Assam Laksa, and it was an absolute delight. This dish stands out as one of the best I've tasted in Melbourne, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to authentic Malaysian flavors. The Assam Laksa boasted a rich and tangy broth, perfectly balanced with the subtle sweetness of tamarind and the fragrant aroma of lemongrass and galangal. The attention to detail in the soup's complexity, with layers of flavors that danced on my palate with each spoonful. It is a culinary experience that transports diners to the bustling streets of Penang. One thing to note is the weekend surcharge that is applied, which may deter some patrons from visiting during peak times. However, on weekdays, the restaurant maintains a bustling atmosphere with a steady stream of customers, adding to the lively ambiance. Overall, I recommend O'Town for its fantastic dishes and excellent value, especially for weekday visits when you can avoid the weekend surcharge.

quote Restaurant is busy as they are currently having some promotion on the dinner set. It starts at 5pm from Monday to Sunday. Very reasonable price. Food is delicious, we truly enjoyed the sambal kangkung. The curry fish head is big portion and taste good. Just add $1 for 1/2 portion of roasted chicken. We paid $59.80 for 4 dishes + rice.

quote Food Review: Original White Curry Laksa: Delicious and authentically prepared. However, for those who love cockles, the substitution with clams might be disappointing. Personally, I'm satisfied with clams. Keropok Lekor: Decent, but would benefit from a crispier texture. The inside tends to be a bit soft, lacking the desired crunch on the outside. Penang Kueh Chap: Taste-wise, it's satisfactory, but the noodles are all clumped together, indicating that they weren't separated before cooking. (As seen in the photo, they're stuck together in the bowl). Teh C and Kopi: Among the best local Teh C and Kopi I've had in Melbourne. Not instant, with a delightful tea and coffee aroma. Peanut Mochi: Very enjoyable, with thin skin. The only downside is that the peanut filling lacks fragrance, as if it wasn't toasted beforehand. Onde Onde: Pleasantly chewy, with a generous amount of gula melaka filling. Overall: A decent selection of food, drinks, and kuih. However, it's advisable to arrive early for the kuih, as they tend to sell out quickly.
